Rings / Circlips
Wire rings are increasing in popularity as a cost effective replacement for the more traditional type of circlip. We have fast production equipment for the production of wire rings as well as special purpose tooling for the completion of rings requiring special ends or non standard shaped gaps.

The following information may be useful when ordering:
| SYMBOLS and TERMS USED |
| d |
Wire diameter |
| D |
Mean diameter (Do-d) |
| Do |
Outside diameter |
| Di |
Inside diameter |
| c |
Spring index D/d |
It is important that we are advised as to the circlips application, either to contract (in a grove) or expand (over a shaft) when fitted. This may effect the manufacturing methods and materials used. |

| Diameter Tolerances |
| =+/- 1.5 x a+ (c+20)(D+b) |
| 10000 |
or +/- 1.5% of the mean coil diameter x 1.5 which ever is the greater. For imperial dimensions a = 39.37 and b- 0.3149 For metric dimensions a = 1000 and b = 8 | |
Packing:
Circlips and wire rings produced with a gap larger than the wire diameter can tangle. We have developed methods for packing which can avoid tangling and aid auto assembly as well as providing protection during storage and transport.
